Jessica Gall
Jessica Gall is not the type to be found in Berlin's more trendy neighbourhoods. Born into a musical family, the young woman has decided to follow a different path. Just turned thirty, Jessica is the mother of two children as well as working as a professional singer. After having taken time off to look after her new baby, Jessica Gall and her musicians recently finished the Little Big Soul album, the follow-up to her debut album Just Like You which was released by Sony Deutschland. The press called Just Like You a "strong, confident, expressive debut album - twelve soulful songs" (SZ, April 08) and described the singer as "timeless, elegant, individual" (BNN, April 09).
Daniel Stelter
Daniel Stelter says he is not a particular fan of "purely guitar-based records". "Not because they're badly played, or the people aren't talented. I simply prefer records with a singer on them," explains the young guitarist, who has just delivered a guitar-based record of a different kind entitled 'Homebrew Songs'. It's a record which he himself and, let's face it, a large number of listeners will want to listen to over and over again. "The idea was to play totally ordinary songs featuring just me on guitar. The melodies could also have been sung."
TRIBAND

Jeff Cascaro
With his second album Mother and Brother, Bochum-born singer Jeff Cascaro makes his reputation as one of Germany's major voices in soul music with a pop attitude permanent. His first outing Soul of a Singer (2006) created this very special mood blending catchy songs made from pop, soul, jazz and blues elements. Sebastian Studnitzky
"I used to be a simple jazz trumpeter", Studnitzky confesses with a smile, surprised about his own development over the past years. "The piano was more like a hobby. Then I found myself at the keys in the studio or on stage more and more often, for instance with Wolfgang Haffner or Rebekka Bakken." Now he's getting serious and presents a recording, that shows his skills as trompet player, keyboarde - and as leader of a first class trio: with Dieter Ilg and Wolfgang Haffner

Claude Chalhoub
As a child, Claude Chalhoub improvised on the arab rebeck music of his parent's house in beirut/lebanon. to sing on the violin is the secret of his intriguing music. Once a member of the BBC staff at one of his concerts said to Claude: "Whatever it is, you do, please do more of this!" In spring 2008 Chalhoub's new album will be released at Herzog Records, recorded with strings of the Leipzig Gewandhaus-Orchester and pianists Laura Kostina and Ulf Kleiner, drummer Tobias Backhaus and Thomas Stahr on bass.
Lühning
Singer Inga Lühning cwas noted by a broader audience due to projects like [re:jazz]. The german magazine Focus wrote on Jazz in Germany "Without singers like Lisa Bassenge, Inga Lühning, Linda Carriere or Joy Denalane, it would mean nothing at all!". There is meaning, as Inga Lühning no proves with her band - named Lühning - and "Entfernung", the second Album of the band, grown out of solid experience in 21st centuries music, from drum 'n' bass, indie-pop and jazz to psychedelic, triphop, bossa nova and deephouse.

Live performances by Trio Macchiato are unfortettable experiences for all the senses. There are songs in the world that are badly in need of attention. They push their way into our ears, into our lives and they want to be noticed. These are not necessarily bad songs, but they are also not the most lasting ones. Lasting are the songs that manage to get along without us, that do not use force, that can do it all on their own, that like themselves without getting smug about it. And that's how they have turned out, these songs on "Heart of Clay" –the new album of the wonderful singer/songwriter Amy Antin.
Peter von Poehl
Peter von Poehl has been on tour and in studios with Michel Houllebeqc, Alain Chamfort and Burgalat - quite an array of artists. Still, he likes to take his guitar, hit the streets and put his songs through a field test. When his single 'Going To Where The Tea Trees Are' was on French radio, listeners kept the stations' telephone lines busy. Just before Peter von Poehl's album of the same title is released by Herzog Records, he was on tour in Germany with his musical soul mates of the band AIR.
Nighthawks
